PRIVACY NOTICE pursuant to art. 13 Regulation (EU) n. 2016/679
The Congregation of the Legionaries of Christ, ecclesiastical body with legal seat in Rome, Via Aurelia 677, tel. 0688961, in its capacity as controller of the use of personal data (hereinafter “Controller” or also “Congregation”), informs you in accordance with art. 13 of Regulation (EU) n. 2016/679 “General Data Protection Regulation” (hereinafter “GDPR”), in your capacity as “data subject”, about the modalities of the processing of your personal data on our website.

Type of data processed
The Data Controller collects as little personal data as possible in order to be able to provide the relevant service. These data are those contained in the various contact forms and are common and particular personal data such as: name and surname, e-mail address, country and reason for the message.
The confessional nature of the Data Controller means that his registration data allow third parties to understand his religious orientation, and therefore such data are considered as personal data whose processing is allowed to the Data Controller in accordance with art. 9, par. 2, lett. d) of the GDPR.
Purpose and legal basis of the processing
The data are processed exclusively for contact and management purposes. The legal basis for the processing is the consent expressly given. Lack of consent may result in the impossibility to access the requested services.
Modality of the treatment
The use of your personal data is carried out by digital means that can be located either in the European Union or outside the European Union, in any case in compliance with the applicable legal provisions and in accordance with the standards set by the European Commission.
It is in each case understood that, as the Congregation operates worldwide, the data will be accessible also from outside the European Union, in accordance with the provisions of recital n. 48 GDPR.
Data Processor
The technical management of the digital media through which the data is managed is entrusted to a company based in Mexico, which has been appointed data controller pursuant to art. 28 GDPR. The transfer of data is carried out according to the procedures prescribed by the decision of the European Commission n. 914/2021.
Communication of data
The Congregation may communicate the data to other companies, national or international, entities and/or institutions, internally linked to the Congregation. These subjects will use the data in their capacity as autonomous holders of the use, assuming all the obligations and responsibilities assumed by the Congregation with this Informative Notice.
Retention period
The Congregation will keep your personal data for a period no longer than the achievement of the purposes for which they are processed and in accordance with the parameters set out in art. 5 par. 1 letter e) of the GDPR.
Rights of data subjects
As a data subject, you have the right to obtain, as provided by articles 15-22 of the GDPR, the following: o the correction of personal data; o the limitation of the use of personal data concerning you, when: (a) you question the accuracy of the personal data, for the period necessary for the Controller to verify the accuracy of such personal data; (b) the use is unlawful under the GDPR and you oppose the deletion of personal data and ask, instead, that their use be limited; (c) the personal data are necessary for you to verify, exercise or defend a right in court or the cancellation of the personal data themselves; you have, in particular, the right to request the cancellation of personal data and/or to oppose the use of the personal data. This request for opposition or cancellation of data is inadmissible if it concerns data relating to the celebration of the sacrament of priestly ordination or in any case relating to the status of persons or if the use of the data is necessary for the ascertainment, exercise or defense of a right in a court of law. You can make a request to the Italian Guarantor for the Protection of Personal Data, according to art. 77 of the GDPR, which is the main supervisory authority, or to the Supervisory Authority of your country, which will then activate the cooperation procedure indicated in art. 60 and following of the GDPR.

Your request will be reviewed in the shortest possible time.
